Already incorporated within the UK Corporate Governance Code, Board Evaluation is increasingly being considered a key event in conducting best practice Corporate Governance. Why is this topical activity attracting the attention of Boards and Corporate Governance practitioners? This conference aims to investigate the benefits and methods of conducting successful Board Evaluations by specialists with first-hand experience in both the corporate and fund industry realms.
This event should prove of interest to both directors and corporate secretarial officers and those responsible for corporate governance activities, especially in relation to Board meeting functioning and support; with opportunities for you to present your thoughts or questions.
The ILA Investment Fund Committee objectives are to lead development of the governance framework at board level for all regulated and non-regulated Luxembourg funds by liaising with respective stakeholders on a proactive basis and providing input to draft laws, EU Green Papers and other consultation documents.
The ILA Company Secretary Group seeks to help the development of the Luxembourg corporate governance framework by assisting those professionals in Board support roles to better support and manage Boards through networking, education and other events.

» 21.06.2011: ILA - "Election de Marie-Jeanne Chèvremont-Lorenzini à la Présidence de l'Institut Luxembourgeois des Administrateurs"

L’Assemblée Générale de ILA s’est réunie le 21 Juin 2011 à la Chambre de Commerce notamment pour procéder à l’élection de nouveaux  membres du conseil à savoir Carole Wintersdorff, Michèle Eisenhuth, Monique Bachner et Thierry Schuman.
Ce nouveau conseil vient d’élire Marie-Jeanne Chèvremont-Lorenzini comme nouveau Président pour un mandat de 2 années. Marie-Jeanne Chèvremont-Lorenzini prend ainsi la  suite de Patrick Zurstrassen qui avait été président de ILA depuis sa création en Avril 2005  jusqu’à ce jour. Sous sa présidence, l’Association a pu se développer et atteindre la taille qu’elle a aujourd’hui (370 Membres) en étant l’association de référence pour les Administrateurs à Luxembourg. ILA est  membre de la Confédération Européenne des Associations d’Administrateurs (ecoDa). Patrick Zurstrassen continuera de représenter les intérêts d’ILA  et du Grand Duché de Luxembourg à Bruxelles au conseil d’ecoDA dont il a été élu Président.

Le  Conseil d’Administration d’ILA se compose de 4 femmes sur 19 membres soit 20 % de présence féminine.

of directors of companies and collective investment still tend to underestimate the extent of
their legal, regulatory and financial responsibilities.

• How to identify and manage conflicts of interests?
• What are the best governance practices for UCI?
• What are the roles of the service providers of the UCI?
• How to choose the members of a board of directors?
• How to cover liability of directors?

The purpose of this seminar will be to comment on these key issues and to consider possible
lines of actions.

How to identify and manage conflicts of interests? What are the best governance practices for UCI? What are the roles of the service providers of the UCI? How to choose the members of a board of directors? How to cover liability of directors?

The purpose of this seminar will be to comment on these key issues and to consider possible lines of action.

Session consisting of 12 hours split over one and a half days:
Monday, 15th November (from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
Tuesday, 16th November (from 9.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
