“Promote and Enable Corporate Governance Officers (CGO) and Governance Professionals” by · Corporate Governance Officer (CGO)and Governance Professional Recognition The Corporate Governance Officer (CGO) function is not formalized nor recognized in Luxembourg. The objective of the committee is to support recognition by the other actors and stakeholders of the Luxembourg market, evidence the key role played by company secretaries and governance professionals, and emphasise on added value of the function. Briefly, promote the role and give a clear definition of the areas for action dedicated to Corporate Governance Officers (CGOs) and governance professionals. · Corporate Governance Officer (CGO) and Governance Professional Quality Provide the Luxembourg market with high-quality training to give certainty and credibility to the function. It also includes codes/continuous professional development (“CPD”) training to facilitate and orientate Corporate Governance Officers (CGOs) and governance professionals while exercising their function. · Corporate Governance Officer (CGO) and Governance Professional Community To create a community of professionals in Luxembourg able to share and permanently contribute to the excellence of the function, create future links with internationally recognized Corporate Governance Officer (CGO) and governance professional organizations. The ILA Corporate Governance Officer (CGO) Committee focuses on corporate governance, including legal and regulatory aspects as well as best practices, and how to maximise Board efficiency Since 2017, the main milestone of the Committee has been successful setting up and implementation of the ILA Certificate in Company Secretarial & Governance Practice (CGO Certification), the first-ever professional certification in Luxembourg in the field of Corporate Governance Officers (CGOs) and corporate governance through a dedicated training programme. In addition, the Committee strives to build up targeted CPD training for Corporate Governance Officers (CGOs) and governance professionals including dedicated breakfast briefings to support them in continuously developing their skills. The Committee aims to equip individuals who carry out a Corporate Governance Officer (CGO) position with the most up-to-date knowledge and skills, from entry-level staff who wish to develop their knowledge and understanding of this role to senior Corporate Governance Officers (CGOs) and board members looking to enhance on their professional development and stay abreast of regulations and guidelines.
