Monique Bachner-Bout is an Independent Director and lawyer with broad governance, legal, technology and financial services expertise. Monique sits on Boards of commercial companies, investment funds, and non-profits. Monique holds both law and economics degrees, and is an ILA Certified Director and INSEAD IDP-C.
Monique started her career as a Magic Circle corporate lawyer and now focuses on governance and innovation, and in particular their intersection with legal and regulatory frameworks. Monique is the author of various corporate governance and technology governance articles and guidance and is active in national and international working groups related to corporate governance, decentralisation, and automation/AI governance & ethics, and is a frequent speaker on these issues.
Dr. Emilia Tantar is Chief Data and AI Officer at Black Swan LUX, spin-off of the University of Luxembourg, she co-founded in 2015. She previously held the Chief Data and Artificial Intelligence Officer position at INCERT G.I.E. and led the Artificial Intelligence (AI) efforts of PwC Luxembourg as Senior Manager.
She has over 15 years experience delivering AI to the business market as researcher and strategic consultant. She has edited 7 volumes in Springer and has authored more than 20 journal papers and scientific articles, collaborating with entities such as the World Economic Forum (WEF) or the Atomic Energy Commission (CEA). As TedX speaker she regularly delivers keynotes and participates in exchanges for OECD, European Commission, within the research and business communities.
Emilia is co-convener of the CEN and CENELEC JTC 21 AI Ad-hoc WG on AI Conformity assessment, President of Luxembourg AI national mirror committee and delegate on AI standardization in the CEN CENELEC JTC 21 Strategic Advisory Group and ISO/IEC JTC1/SC 42 working groups. She is member of the European Observatory of ICT Standardization WG on AI, where she co-authored the EUOS report of TWG-AI: Landscape of AI Standards, June 2021. She is also member of the European Commission Digital SME Focus Group on AI and acts as expert for the European Commission since several years, evaluating and monitoring digital and artificial intelligence related initiatives.
Max is working as a civil servant in the ministry of State’s Department for Media, Connectivity and Digital Policy. He is mostly working on AI and other emerging technologies-related files. He has coordinated Luxembourg’s national AI strategy and helped create the public-private partnership Infrachain which has become a central actor in Luxembourg’s blockchain ecosystem. Max Gindt is a member of the board of the Luxembourg House of FinTech, as well as Infrachain.
Carlos Guinand is an entrepreneur. He's co-founder and the Executive Chairman of Sonnedix. He is instrumental in setting the strategic direction and growth of the company and oversees the company’s governance and performance through his expertise in international governance and operational issues. Carlos is also the Chair of the Performance and the Human Resources & Compensation Committees.
Mehtap is the Chief Risk Officer and a member of the Executive Committee for Brown Brothers Harriman Luxembourg, London and Zurich. Mehtap has held senior risk positions in leading financial institutions in different countries for over 25 years, including HSBC, Barclays, Lloyds Banking Group. Mehtap started her career in internal audit and she has obtained several global certifications in relation to audit, risk and control related matters.
During her professional career, Mehtap has been active in writing/editing, speaking and lecturing related roles about governance, risk management, internal control and audit related matters. Mehtap is also currently the Co-Chair of the ALFI Digital/Fintech Forum Cybersecurity Working Group and is actively working on other industry initiatives in relation to Artificial Intelligence and ESG.
She received various awards and recognitions during her career in relation to her commitment to the risk management matters and industry engagement.
Alexandru Tantar is leading the Trustworthy AI group in LIST, with a main focus on AI topics across a wide range of strategic sectors, including from industry to finance and space. Alexandru was Vice President of R&D and co-founder of Black Swan Lux (Luxembourg’s 2016 Healthcare Startup of the Year, and in the 10 semi-finalists out of 530 companies worldwide in the Accenture HealthTech Innovation Challenge, London).
He co-chaired the EVOLVE International Conference series, and represented Luxembourg in the FuturICT FET. Among others, he was also an invited speaker for the Doctor Honoris Causa awarding of Horton Conway (Princeton University).
David graduated in IT applied to Management from the University of Nancy II and holds a Master « M.I.A.Ge. » ((Maîtrise d’Informatique Appliquée à la Gestion).
Prior to become an independent advisor and administrator specialised in IT for the financial sector, David worked for more than 20 years for the Luxembourg’s financial regulator, the CSSF, as head of IT Supervision and Support PFS. He also acted 6 years as CIO, managing the CSSF’s internal information systems.
Before joining the CSSF late 1999, David worked at PwC Luxembourg as Manager in IT Financial Services, BIL as head of IT for the front and middle office and at Cetrel S.C. (today: SIX Payment) as head of IT Development where he designed the national clearing system for payments and the national direct debit system. He was also co-designer of the ATM-POS softwares for card acquisition.
David is Associated Lecturer at the Luxembourg’s University on Risk & Security matters (Master in information system security), member of the Luxembourg’s National Committee on Digital Signature in charge of final approval of Certification Authorities, Honorary President of the Luxembourg Association for Security of Information Systems (CLUSIL) after ten years of presidency, member and former member of various working groups (Haut Comité à la Place Financière – FinTech WG, European Supervisory Market Authority (ESMA), Basel Committee…).
In 2017, he received the “Lifetime Career” award from the Luxembourg’s ICT community for his ongoing commitment to the ICT community.
Auban Derreumaux is Independent Director, Strategic Advisor and Entrepreneur, holding a Master in innovation & Information technology and a certificate of the INSEAD Aspiring Director Program.
Over the last 15 year, Auban has developed his career in Luxembourg in the bank sector and other various contexts, public and private, local and international, mostly as consultant.
In 2013, Auban founded an IT consulting company in Luxembourg, with the purpose to provide expertise in IT and digital and to promote innovation for sustainable, resilient, organisations, encompassing human, society and technologies.
2019, Auban is committed to address the big challenges of the future as
independent director and strategic advisor, providing expertise in digital,
ESG, business management and innovation. He is member of the Beirat
of Raiffeisen since 2022.
Auban is also engaged at ILA, as contributing member, committed to the “Think Tank” working committee and as Co-Chair of the “Digital” WC. He also contributes to several working groups with IMS in topics related to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
