European Green Deal - Sustainability at the EIB
ILA in cooperation with the INSEAD IDN - International Directors Network is pleased to invite you to the online event “European Green Deal – Sustainability at the EIB” where Dr. Hakan Lucius will outline the actions currently undertaken by the European Investment Bank, the EU’s Bank, within the European Green Deal, to embed sustainability into investments in general, and to work towards a net-zero carbon economy, in particular. He will share with us as well some practical aspects on the topic.
The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session with the audience, the participants will be able to submit their questions via the Q&A section and our moderator will be pleased to submit them to Dr. Lucius.

Prof Dr Hakan Lucius is Professor of Finance, lecturing at SciencesPo in Paris, the Frankfurt School of Finance, and the Welch College of Business, Luxembourg and specializes on sustainable finance. He is an internationally acclaimed speaker, having presented in conferences in over 16 countries globally, quoted by the Financial Times and by Reuters, was awarded Best Lecturer, Master of Development Finance, by Frankfurt School and by the by Welch MBA, Luxembourg and has published articles in multiple languages. He received a Ph.D. with distinctions in industrial economics, an MBA from INSEAD, France and an MSc in Engineering from Vienna Technical University, where he graduated as the youngest student of his faculty.
Prof Dr Lucius is currently Head of Corporate Responsibility at the European Investment Bank, EIB, the European Union’s bank, and possesses more than 20 years of sustainability experience in finance with some EUR 7 bn of financing structured. His responsibilities cover the ESG reporting, sustainability ratings, transparency and stakeholder engagement dimensions, amongst others, of the EIB.
Prof Dr Lucius is also member of the Board of Luxflag, serves on the European Investment Bank’s Pensions Board, co-chairs the FinTech working group of the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry, is on their environmental fund label and the ESG fund label eligibility committees, SASB`s financial advisory group, as well as the EIB Institute’s Knowledge Committee.
