One hour max talk on sustainability strategy with Mr Jacques Lanners
ILA is pleased to launch a series of short 'one hour max talk' with key decision makers who have already walked or have concrete plans to walk the pass to a strategy that fully embeds sustainability. The objective of these 'talks will be allow these decision makers to very concretely explain their 'sustainability strategy' and most of all provide feedback on what role their boards and the governance model in general has been or is playing in getting there.
The first interview of the series will be hosted by Sophie Öberg and Alain Mestat, both members of the ILA Sustainability Strategy for Boards committee, who will welcome Mr Jacques Lanners, an independent director with more than 35 years’ experience in the industrial sector and a rich board experience.
With degrees in both engineering (Mechanical Engineering IST) and management (MSM, Master of Science in Management, Vrije Universiteit Brussel / Boston University; Senior Management Program Tokyo, EC / MITI; YMP, Young Manager Program, INSEAD), Jacques Lanners has spent his entire carreer within the global high-tech engineering group CERATIZIT, from R&D engineer at Cérametal S.àr.l. to Chairman of the Executive Board of CERATIZIT S.A., through positions in engineering, production and management.
He has a rich board experience, as board member of FEDIL (2002-2016), Luxembourg Science Centre and Da Vinci (former Association Luxembourgeoise des Ingénieurs), as Chairman of the supervisory board of Losch Group, as Chairman of the board of LIST (Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology) and of LPEM (Lycée Privé Emile Metz) as well as Vice Chairman of the board of Luxexpo the Box.
Jacques Lanners has been Guest Professor at the MBA program at Sacred Heart University Luxembourg (1994-2002), Guest speaker at the « Journées de l'excellence industrielle » in Luxembourg (1996/2001) and President of the « MLQ, Mouvement Luxembourgeois pour la Qualité » (2000-2009). He has been rewarded as Entrepreneur of the Year in Luxembourg 2009 (Ernst & Young).
After more than 35 years in the industrial sector, Jacques Lanners is independant director since 2019.
