"I went through the Guberna cycle and the good thing about the Guberna training path is that as a participant are surrounded by people with 10-15 years of relevant experience, where one can learn a lot from. And then after the intensive work, there is the fun part, such as case studies, socializing during coffee break and networking with your fellow alumni. The good thing is also that Guberna is built on solid and experienced teachers and an highly motivated staff aiming at giving the best experience to the participants.
Great certification and training are founded on great partnerships, that is more than the sum of its parts. The great thing about ILA is that they understand the essentials of success, i.e. partnering up with someone who is better than you at certain things. That is exactly what Guberna very well understood from their side also when teaming up with ILA.
Certification will become more and more key and will for sure procure in the future a competitive advantage in a selection process and might even become a condition precedent for a certain type of director mandates. Don’t make a mistake: certification doesn’t equal nor guarantee necessarily independence of mind or a relevant skill set, nor does it warrant the most important feature of an independent director, i.e. his/her financial independency versus the director mandate. The certificate however shows that a certified director benefits from a regular training and has acquired the relevant theoretical background and continues to update these basic skills."
