Hans Peter Bär is a certified board member and an internationally experienced professional in the financial services industry. He is a proven expert in corporate governance, international leadership, risk management and compliance. Hans Peter has extensive consulting and leadership experience in the wealth management, fund & asset management as well as in the corporate & institutional clients’ business. 

Over the last >20 years, he has  successfully build-up, developed and lead a number of significant business and control functions in Switzerland, the USA, the United Kingdom and on the Channel Islands. Hans Peter is highly passionate about leadership, corporate governance and the impact of the board on companies’ performance. He is currently a Board Member of Credit Suisse Funds AG, Switzerland, of MultiConcept Fund Management (Luxembourg) S.A. and of a number of Fonds Commun de Placement (FCPs) in Luxembourg. 

He is a certified board member from the Zentrum für Unternehmensführung (ZFU). In his current role, he acts as a Managing Director and Head of Fund Companies of Credit Suisse (Switzerland) AG in Switzerland, Luxembourg and Ireland. In his previous leadership role, he assumed responsibility as the Head of the Custodian Bank of UBS in Switzerland. He was responsible for the management and growth of a large scale funds portfolio of UBS own investment fund and third party funds (370 funds, asset volume >350bn CHF, >12 ManCos). He was the Chairman and Executive Member of the UBS Custodian Bank Board and was a member of a number of senior management committees and working groups.

He was personally registered with FINMA as a «principal person» (Gewährsträger). He enjoys a first class reputation and received several regulatory confirmations of his impeccable business conduct. Hans Peter holds a Ph.D. (Dr. oec. publ., summa cum laude) in Banking from the University of Zurich.

 He successfully completed the International Executive Program at INSEAD, the Senior Management Program at the Swiss Finance Institute (SFI) and the High Performance Board and Board Dynamics Programs at IMD in Lausanne. In addition, he is a Certified Board Member by the Zentrum für Unternehmensführung (ZFU), a Member of the Swiss Risk Association (SRA) and a Senior Fellow of the International Compliance Association (ICA). He is currently in the process of completing the Board Directors Diploma at IMD in Lausanne.
