Xavier Schmit is a ILA/Guberna certified Director serving as non executive Board Director since 2009 on a wide range of investment funds such as UCITS, SIF and RAIF.

Before taking the decision to set up as an Independent Director, Xavier worked for more than 10 years as a Fund Governance Officer for the third-party funds management company of the Pictet Group in Luxembourg. Xavier was responsible for the creation, establishment and reporting to the Board of Directors, whilst also acting as a non executive board member for several investment funds.

Xavier started his career in 1993 in Luxembourg, gaining extensive experience in the back office area of one of the largest International Clearing Houses. A few years later Xavier moved to one of the major Luxembourgish-based banks and was responsible for the set-up of the new Specialised and Common Depositaries. With previous experience as Head of Customer Care for a newly created Online Investment platform in Luxembourg, Xavier also worked as a Business Analyst in charge of the testing of the transaction platform FundSettle and the training of its users.

Finally, Xavier worked for the Luxembourg office of a well-known Swiss Wealth Manager where he was in charge of Compliance and became Head of Finance and Administration responsible for Compliance, Finance, internal risk management and both the internal and external audits. He was also Director for several investment funds such as Part II, SIFs and Cayman funds.
