With over two decades of experience in the financial services industry, Laurent embarked on his professional journey in 1995 as a fund manager, later assuming the role of risk manager at Fortis across Belgium, Netherlands, and Japan. In 2001, he transitioned to EY in Luxembourg, achieving partner status in 2008. Within EY, he spearheaded risk and regulatory advisory services as the FS Risk leader at the EMEIA level, focusing on UCITS IV.

Laurent's contributions extended globally when he took on the role of EY Global Fund Distribution Leader. In this capacity, he orchestrated EY's efforts worldwide in the realm of fund distribution services.
Laurent pioneered the establishment of innovative web services providing market and regulatory intelligence across 30 jurisdictions. Additionally, he implemented a business intelligence and data analytics system for fund flows and AuM, covering more than 80 countries (EY GFD).

In 2017, he decided to leave EY and establish ume, a groundbreaking platform dedicated to due diligence on delegates in fund distribution. This venture has attracted widespread global media coverage and received numerous esteemed awards, solidifying its position as the foremost platform in the industry.
