HONDEQUIN Alain

Alain possesses a broad 30+ years of international banking experience, starting in Belgium and then in Luxembourg since 1986 where he held managerial positions in legal and compliance functions and as member of banks’ Management Boards. He spent 19 years within the UBS Group, mainly in Luxembourg as Head of legal & Compliance and 2 years in Switzerland in a wealth Management Compliance function. After 5 years as General Counsel with the Luxembourg Bankers Association (ABBL), Alain now heads the Luxembourg office of BRP Bizzozero & Partners, a Compliance RegTech company offering regulatory cross-border risk management tools.

He currently holds several mandates as non-executive director of regulated start-ups in Luxembourg and Belgium. 

Alain is a founding member, former Board member and Vice President, of the Luxembourg Compliance Officers Association (ALCO) and has been working closely with ILA for several years through 2 of its working committees. He has a law degree of the Université de Liège and a Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B.) of Cambridge University.
