Biography
Anabela is an experienced Non-Executive Director (NED) with expertise in corporate and tax governance, finance and compliance. She has more than 20 years of experience in advising large financial sector clients and their boards with their tax strategy and fiscal risks.
She has a solid experience in assisting life and non-life insurance companies and in particular UK based insurers as she has led various Brexit projects.
Anabela was previously a Partner (during 10 years) at EY Luxembourg and have held various roles at PwC Luxembourg. She has been an active member of ABBL/ACA tax working groups.
She serves various boards, as NED, among which Luxembourg-based financial sector clients. To include a sustainability lens in her advice to clients she certified in Sustainable Finance and Transition to Net Zero Carbon at Cambridge University.
She is chartered accountant in Luxembourg. She holds a Master in Business and Economics from the Solvay Business School (Brussels) and a Master in Tax Law from Brussels Tax College.
Anabela is convinced that integrating tax governance/regulatory/compliance as well as ESG dimensions in board decisions is a key safeguard for the protection of the shareholders and the business. Indeed, it generates sustainable business opportunities, saves costs and mitigates risks.
