Jose Luis Rodriguez Alvarez holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Trade from the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes Commerciales in Brussels, a Master's degree in Economics and Social Policy from the Université Mons-Hainaut, and he completed an Executive Management Program at the prestigious IESE Business School in Madrid.

With over 18 years of extensive experience in the financial sector, he honed his skills at Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA). During his tenure, he served as CFO and subsequently as Managing Director of BBVA LuxInvest S.A (Luxembourg) and Scaldis Finance S.A. (Belgium) from 2002 to 2018.

In addition to his executive roles, he held pivotal positions as a Conducting Officer for two self-managed UCITS funds in Luxembourg, namely BBVA Durbana International Fund SICAV and BBVA Global Funds SICAV. He also served as a Board member for both funds, as well as holding mandates in a UCI Part II fund, a SIF, and several banks within the Privanza network of the BBVA group. In these capacities, he reported to both the BBVA Asset Management business line and the BBVA Accounting and Supervisors department from 2006 to 2018.

Beyond his corporate responsibilities, he contributed actively to the community as the vice-Chairman of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Belgium and Luxembourg, and held the esteemed position of President of the Spanish Financial Forum.

Presently, leveraging his certification as an INSEAD IDP-C and ILA Certified Director, he serves on the boards of UCITS funds and private equity funds in Luxembourg. He is also an active member of the Institut Luxembourgeois des Administrateurs (ILA), further enriching his governance expertise and contributing to the regulatory landscape.
