Biography
Since 2024 Kathryn Xistris has led Amazon Web Services Sales organization for the Public Sector Industry across EMEA. AWS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Amazon.com with annualized revenue of $100B USD. AWS Public Sector Industry provides Digital Transformation services to government, nonprofit organizations and educational institutions on large-scale AWS Cloud migrations. Kathryn has full P&L responsibilities for the $1B business unit. In addition, she invests time developing technical talent at AWS and mentoring female talent in the IT industry. Prior to this role, Kathryn launched Professional Services for WWPS International, build and led the EMEA organization. She is a member of the WWPS EMEA Sales Leadership Team.
In addition, Kathryn is an Authorized Manager and Board member of Amazon Payments Europe (APE). APE is Amazon retail s operating entity regulated by the Commission Securitaire du Secteur Financier (CSSF) of the government of Luxembourg. APE is the world s largest electronic monetary institute (EMI) managing daily assets of $2.6B.
She is a signing officer for AWS Sarl Luxembourg and Amazon Payment Europe Sarl Luxembourg. Previously Kathryn was with Microsoft Corporation for 21 years as Microsoft Consulting Services (MCS) General Manager for the Central and Eastern Europe region. The Microsoft CEE business unit operated in 32 countries, employing over 3,000 people and $3B revenue. Kathryn had full P&L responsibility for $250M and 450 employees.
Prior to that, Kathryn was the Chief of Staff and Senior Director of Business Operations for Microsoft Central and Eastern Europe. Before this, she held executive roles leading Global Leadership and Management training; Sales and Marketing and Services Readiness for over 90,000 employees with direct responsibility for teams in all 13 business units across the globe.
She has also held global operation and strategy leadership roles, enterprise sales and services leadership positions, and direct sales roles during her tenure in Microsoft Canada. She was a signing officer of Microsoft Corp. and a member of the Central and Eastern Europe Senior Leadership Team and the Canadian Subsidiary Leadership Team.
Kathryn started her career in Information Technology with Digital Equipment Corporation. A native of Canada, Kathryn currently lives in Luxembourg.She is fluent in English, French and Greek. She holds a Bachelor s of Computer Science in Engineering Degree and College Degree in Pure and Applied Sciences.
She is an INSEAD Certified Corporate Governance Director.
