The purpose of this three-day is to provide experienced Executives and Directors with the essential knowledge required to perform their function as Director in Luxembourg in the most effective manner. The course will be taking place from the Wednesday at 08:30 until the Friday at 17:00.
The programme covers the roles and responsibilities of Directors and their key duties in the major legal and regulatory frameworks specific to the Luxembourg business environment.
This programme also offers the opportunity to explore the role and added value of a director interacting with both peers and experts.
The course is delivered in twelve interactive modules, led by local practitioners and experts:

- Luxembourg Directors’ duties and liabilities
- The Sustainability Imperative for Boards
- Integrity in the Luxembourg boardroom
- Best practices for good tax governance: market updates and case study
- Luxembourg board dynamics
- Co-opting and on boarding a board member
- Applying corporate governance best practices in Luxembourg
- Strategic Pay: The Board’s Secret Weapon
- Audit committee simulation
- Board simulation
- Luxembourg financial regulation
Three mandatory e-learnings will also be included in the course on:
- Luxembourg Company Law
- Accounting & financial reporting in Luxembourg
- Tax governance in Luxembourg
The programme is delivered over eleven interactive modules which are run by local practitioners and experts. The content involves not only formal presentations but also case studies based on real-life experience. Each module offers discussion opportunities and experience sharing with both presenters and other course participants. At the end of the programme, you must sit a mandatory exam to be granted the title of Associate Director.
Requirements
The course is part of our Certification programme and the participants have to fulfil at least one of the following 3 conditions:
- Having completed the ILA Bootcamp and acted as an Executive or a Non-Executive board member of companies having effective economic activities for at least two years; or
- Having acted as an Executive or a Non-Executive board member of companies having effective economic activities for at least three years; or
- Having relevant executive management or board exposure experience within the Board of Directors or committees of the Board for at least five years
