Course outline
This course sets out the main areas of focus that fund directors should consider for funds they oversee further to the EU Sustainable Finance Action Plan, and SFDR in particular; recognising that this is a new topic for most actors in the fund and financial industry and one that is quickly evolving.
Course highlights
The main features of the program are:
- A brief introduction to key aspects of ESG and sustainable finance
- A summary of global sustainability standards and EU sustainable finance regulation, with a focus on SFDR
- Sharing of current and evolving practices in respect of

- Sustainability strategy, policies and framework as they pertain to fund and the managers of funds
- Sustainability governance
- Reporting and documentation
- Questions fund directors should be asking
- Future developments; e.g. governance, risk and control frameworks, distribution/MiFID II, education and training
Benefits of the program
Given the evolving nature of sustainable finance and the key role of the fund director, this program aims to give fund directors a list – aide memoire – of areas they should ensure they are looking at and asking about in respect of the funds they oversee. In addition, the sharing of current and evolving best practices will be an important element of the program.
