Course outline
This module is designed to help you with the practical aspects of being a Director in the fund industry.
This course covers the relationship between the Director and the Fund/Investment Fund Manager, the Director lifecycle from sourcing through to termination, managing your liability and overseeing relations with the CSSF.
The implementation of good governance in the daily work of a Director in the fund industry will be illustrated through practical examples.
You will gain pragmatic information and numerous tips, essential for your profession. Pedagogic case studies are used to encourage interaction and learn best practices.
Course highlights
The module will cover the following topics:
- Lifecycle of a Director: accepting, onboarding and continuous review and resigning from a directorship mandate
- What can go wrong: liability management, Directors’ & Officers’ Insurance, examples of claims and resolutions
- Relations with Authorities:

Target audience
A group of about 20 persons representing:
- Governing bodies of investment funds (UCITS, SIF, SICAR, RAIF,...)
- Governing bodies of investment fund managers (UCITS management companies and Alternative Investment Fund Managers (AIFMs))
- Executives and managers at investment fund managers and/or funds
- Executives and managers at service providers, such as administrative and domiciliary agents, depository banks, distributors, compliance and internal audit service providers
