Course outline
This module aims to provide a high-level understanding of the
increasingly complex topics of Tax and Regulation and equip directors to
ask the right questions when carrying out oversight responsibilities in
relation to Tax and Regulation.
The module explores key tax
considerations for Directors of Funds and IFMs and provides guidance on
overseeing compliance with tax obligations and mitigating tax liability.
It also provides an overview of the regulatory environment, a Governing
Body perspective on selected regulatory developments and key regulatory
requirements, explores approaches to handling the regulatory challenge
as well as oversight over compliance and relations with the authorities.
It will use practical examples and mini-workshops to enliven the
topic.

Target audience
A group of about 20 persons representing:
- Governing bodies of investment funds (UCITS, SIF, SICAR, RAIF,...)
- Governing bodies of investment fund managers (UCITS management companies and Alternative Investment Fund Managers (AIFMs))
- Executives and managers at investment fund managers and/or funds
- Executives and managers at service providers, such as administrative and domiciliary agents, depository banks, distributors, compliance and internal audit service providers
