This module provides an overview of the increasingly complex topic of information and communication technology (ICT) governance with the objective of equipping governing bodies with the knowledge and tools to ask the right questions when carrying out their ICT oversight responsibilities at board level.

The module explores ICT governance topics including ICT security and risk management, ICT outsourcing, personal data, Digital signature, FinTech, and how, as a member of a governing body, such ICT risks may be identified and managed. Key regulations such as DORA will be covered. It will use practical examples and mini-workshops to enliven the topic as well as providing guidance on the types of questions board directors should be asking in carrying out oversight on an organisation’s ICT infrastructure. It also explores how directors can ensure security over their own affairs.
